The festival is preparing for takeoff February 19, with highlights now unveiled for our program!

We are proud to continue to support some of Australia’s most talented filmmakers and this year’s Investment Fund slate is our best ever: 12 world premieres in an exceptional array of feature films, documentaries, installations, animation, and experimental film.

The Fund has taken a bold initiative with the commission of a gallery-based video installation by renowned artist Lynette Wallworth, the headliner of our expanded Art and the Moving Image strand, which features a Symposium exploring the tensions and cross-pollination between visual artists and filmmakers.

Sure to be popular in cinemas is a 2009 strand on Romantic Comedy - Not Just For the Ladies! We’re excited to screen some of the best “Rom Com” classics as well as new discoveries.

Our innovative programming comes from outstanding storytellers who utilise the myriad screens in our lives, producing creative work that is both facilitated and advanced by internet technologies and we are delighted to welcome Australia's largest internet service provider, BigPond, as our 2009 Naming Rights Sponsor.
